Puppy Information

"We believe in breeding Brittanys who are as sound in body as they are bright in spirit. Dogs who will not only thrive in sports but also help more people discover the magic of this wonderful breed."

Our Puppies

At Kylibri, our puppies are raised in a home-based environment from the moment they’re born. They are raised indoors with daily handling and exposure to everyday household sights, sounds, and surfaces. From birth, they are carefully socialised with people, other dogs, and introduced to age-appropriate enrichment to build resilience and confidence.

We use a combination of Puppy Culture and Avidog principles to guide their development. This includes different smells, noise desensitisation, introduction to crates, grooming equipment, different textures, toys, and surfaces. All to promote calm, confident, and curious puppies.

Each puppy is monitored closely for growth, temperament and development. At 7–8 weeks, we conduct temperament and conformation assessments to help place puppies into the most suitable homes, whether they’re destined for performance, show, or active pet life.

We are a small kennel with a strong focus on quality over quantity. We plan at most one litter every two years.

Our breeding dogs are fully health tested, including hip and elbow scoring, veterinary health checks. All puppies are wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and registered with the ANKC on the limited register. We also provide a puppy pack and lifetime breeder support.

We wish to remain a point of contact for every puppy we breed and require that any puppy needing rehoming is returned to us or rehomed in consultation. We take the time to get to know our prospective families and ensure each puppy is placed with care.

What to Expect with a Brittany Puppy

Energetic Playtime:
Brittany puppies are full of bounce, they’ll keep you on your toes with their never-ending energy. Expect bursts of zoomies around the yard, followed by moments of calm (but only for a minute!). Regular play sessions will help burn off that high energy, but they’ll always be ready for more.

Curious Nature:

These little explorers are always on the lookout for something new to investigate. They’ll dig, chew, and sniff every corner of the house and garden. It’s all part of their sharp, inquisitive personality. Make sure to puppy-proof your space!

Sleepy Snuggles:
After all that play and learning, don’t be surprised when your Brittany falls asleep in the most adorable spots. They might just curl up at your feet or snuggle in for a nap after a long day of adventures.

Teething Troubles:
Like all puppies, Brittanys go through a teething phase (usually around 4-6 months). Expect some chewing on anything they can get their teeth into — shoes, furniture, or even your favourite socks! Providing plenty of chew toys will help distract them, and frozen treats or washcloths can soothe sore gums.

Training Will Be a Breeze. Mostly
Brittany puppies are eager to learn and love getting attention for their good behaviour. Early socialisation and positive reinforcement training are key. Be consistent with commands and keep sessions very short and fun. An overstimulated Brittany can turn feral fast!

Always finish on a high to make sure they want to come back to play the game.

Mistakes to Avoid with Brittanys

Neglecting Mental Stimulation:

Brittanys are brainy, and if you don’t give them enough to do, they’ll get bored — and that’s when the mischievous side comes out! Use food puzzle like food hidden in snuffle mats, toilet paper rolls or boxes.

Skipping Socialisation:
Brittanys are generally friendly, but without early socialisation, they can become nervous or overly excitable around new people or situations.

Overdoing Physical Exercise Too Soon:

Their energy seems endless, but their growing joints need time to develop properly. Keep exercise gentle and age-appropriate until they’re fully grown. If a puppy get over stimulated and tired, this is where biting and backchatting will occur.

Top Tips for Training Your Brittany

Keep it Fun:
Brittanys learn best when training feels like a game. Lots of treats, toys, and praise go a long way.

Be Consistent:
Clear rules and routines help your Brittany know exactly what’s expected (and they’ll love trying to get it right). Except the couch. There is no stopping them, they will own the couch.

Work That Brain:
Mix up obedience with scent work, tricks, or problem-solving games to keep your clever mate mentally sharp and happy.
